COLUMBUS, Georgia, August 15, 2006 — Integrated Organ Technologies, Inc. today announced the completion of the installation of the new Virtuoso fully integrated organ control system at the St. Paul United Methodist church in Columbus. Originally built in 1971 by Shantz, the 3 manual, 54 rank organ’s console was recently refurbished and modernized by Widener and Company. Widener recommended the replacement of the existing organ control system with Virtuoso.
Major new features enabled by Virtuoso for the church include:
- Fiber optic connectivity to eliminate copper cable runs from the console to the chambers;
- addition of MIDI stops and functionality;
- ability to define any number of users, each having 99 memory levels;
- each memory level, in addition to the capture action, has its own 99-stage registration sequencer, four tutti's and four crescendos.
“I have seen the future of organ control systems, and the Virtuoso is it,” said well known organ builder Thomas McCook of Widener. “Traditionally, electronic organ control systems have been a complex installation and maintenance headache for most organ builders. This new system is much more compact and easier to install than other systems. We are very pleased with how this installation has gone.”
Compactness, reliability, and easy installation are the hallmarks of the Virtuoso system. With only 14 plug and play parts, I/O Distribution Panels, all fiber optic communications and table driven software, the Virtuoso requires much less installation time and experience than traditional systems, savings which result in happier clients and higher profitability for organ builders.
